Fletcher Augustus DeRouen

A diary for our son, by Joe and Andrea DeRouen

Monday, October 27, 2003

Fletcher is now officially a two year old. Actually, as of this writing, he's two years and four days old, but who's counting? Fletcher had a nice birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's this past Saturday. Unfortunately, he had a cold and wasn't quite up to the whole dancing rat thing, but once we were past that he did seem to have a good time.

His friends Emma, Ethan, and Julia, (along with their parents, of course - respectively, Ken, Justin, and Emily) joined us, as did Fletcher's Grandmother Judy, his uncle William, William's girlfriend Lacey, and his (honorary) Uncle Brad and Brad's girlfriend Courtney. Fletcher received a lot of great presents, including a Little People construction set, a play microwave oven, some nice clothes and stuffed animals, a neat set of wooden puzzles, a Mr. Potatohead, a Wiggles Big Red Car toy, a long pad that plays music when you step on it, and some cool musical blocks. He also got a Gearation toy (magnetic gears that move around on a board) on his actual birthday from Mommy and Daddy.

Happy Birthday Fletcher!

FLETCHER IS 2

Last Thursday, Fletcher turned two years old. Joe and I took him to McDonald's for dinner, since that's a treat in his book. He ate a nugget and played on the playground. We sang "happy birthday" to him frequently and he seemed to really love that, especially the "and many more" line. We gave him a Gearation set that Joe found for him that he loves. It's a magnetic board with moving gears that you can move around.

Now if we can just get Fletcher to hold up two fingers instead of one.
